Brown Mountain Beach Resort
Most weekends are spent working side by side with other wedding professionals whom all have the same end goal in mind – deliver quality product/service to our couples, families, and guests. We all know and most enjoy the pressure of a wedding day and understand the flow of how each day may unfold. To be in the trenches with one another a team like approach almost comes naturally. It always works best to be partners together while all striving for our end goal.
Discover an enchanted 100 year old resort, renovated and brought back to life tucked perfectly in a valley of the western North Carolina mountains on the Wilson Creek Gorge (Lenoir, NC). This property has a little bit of everything for the perfect outdoor weekend getaway for couples and their families.
Brown Mountain Beach Resort beach, patio, and Rock Cabin.
With about a dozen cabins/yurts (some with riverside hot tubs) extended families and friends can travel to location and enjoy the weekend together with those closest to them. BMBR is surrounded by 49,000 acres of beautiful wilderness that allow you to release your wild side and enjoy the outdoors. There are numerous hiking trails that lead to incredible waterfalls and mountain views that go on forever. Wilson Creek Gorge also has class IV and V rapids for kayaking and delayed harvest for all fishermen.
On site guests can enjoy the privacy of their own cabin or enjoy all the many common grounds for people to gather. Our favorite spot is the patio overlooking the beach.
From a photographer/videographer standpoint – The grounds have endless possibilities to capture breathtaking creative footage of the couples together. There is a giant rock alongside the river, stepping stone paths out to the middle of the river, and several locations on dry land to capture perfect footage. The layout also lends itself for great footage of the guests enjoying their stay scattered around the grounds as well.
We have enjoyed each visit to BMBR. We have filmed a baptism in the river, a riverside ceremony, and a Rock Cabin ceremony. Each were unique and fun gatherings that ended in quite the celebration on the secluded property.
Finally, the staff. The staff at BMBR have gone above and beyond the call of duty in being great hosts to both families and vendors alike. I can not say enough about General Manager Julie Laramie. She will do all she can to meet the needs of all who step foot at BMBR.
For those looking for an outdoor wedding venue in the mountains – this would be our first recommendation.
